BRIEF PROFILE OF VENAN SONDO

Venan Sondo described himself as a passionate and results-driven self-confessed Greenpreneur, eco-Evangelist, and Certified Sustainability (ESG) Practitioner with over 20 years of proven expertise in sustainability strategy, management, and consulting. He said that in his role as Chief Stewardship Officer at CHAiNT Group, he led a pioneering sustainability and circular services enterprise dedicated to accelerating the circular economy across Africa through high-impact projects. He stated that his mission was to design and implement innovative solutions that enabled inclusive sustainable lifestyles and empowered households, communities, businesses, and governments to transition through informed and practical choices.

He explained that he had been recognized as an award-winning thought leader—named Sustainability Thought Leader EMEA 2023—and as an engaging global speaker who championed conversations on sustainability, ESG, circular economy, eco-innovation, and social impact, inspiring action at both policy and grassroots levels.

He reported that his career had been marked by transformative achievements, including spearheading the development of the Sustainable Banking Principles in Ghana while serving as Sustainability Consulting Practice Lead at PwC Ghana, and contributing to the Circular Economy Road Map for Ghana to advance national strategy on resource efficiency and waste reduction. He added that he founded and led EcoRewards Africa, a digital platform driving circular behavior change, and launched NetCYCLE Africa, an initiative focused on closing the loop on waste fishnets through circular innovation.

He also mentioned serving as the National Representative of the African Circular Economy Network (ACEN) in Ghana and as the Leader of the Circular Economy Club in Accra. Additionally, he noted his role as a Member of the Private Financing Advisory Network (PFAN), where he advised on climate and clean energy projects, and his contributions to national policy as part of the Taskforce for Plastics Advocacy and Awareness under the National Plastics Action Partnership (NPAP) in Ghana.

He indicated that he brought a unique blend of visionary leadership, technical expertise, and practical execution to every initiative, positioning himself at the forefront of Africa’s sustainability and circular transition.
